Makarska Riviera

Makarska Riviera has all the characteristics of Mediterranean climate: hot and dry summers and mild winters. Annually there are more than 2,700 hours of sunshine, which is favorable to the development of tourism, which is the dominant economic sector. The winter times we have a big north winds called "bura" that bring us a cold temperatures and it can cause a greater damage, especially in the north of Makarska Riviera, where the cold front penetrates through the mountian pass "Dubci". Sea temperatures are higher than 20°C in summer, ranging between 23 and 27°C.

The main activity of population: tourism, trade, agriculture, fishing and olives. Tourism is flourishing in the 1970s, when the Makarska Riviera has become a brand in the world of tourism.
